Fires in Athen

As you may have heard in the news, there have been devastating fires in Greece again this year, especially in Athens.

It took several days before the fires could be brought under control. Our colleague George, who normally works on Rhodes, immediately felt called upon to help. He travelled to Athens with his team to lend a hand on site.

Thanks to the help of many volunteers, numerous animals were brought to safety. These included pets such as dogs and cats as well as wild animals. Even the smallest animals such as mice, turtles and even a snake were rescued.

George is committed to animal welfare with boundless dedication, as every life is precious to him and deserves all the help it can get in an emergency situation.

As you can imagine, caring for the rescued animals, especially the necessary medical care, incurs enormous costs. As we did last year with the fires on Rhodes, we would like to support George again this time.

The fires have now been extinguished and George is back on Rhodes. But now the financial challenge begins, which must be mastered.

We would be delighted if you could help us with this endeavour. Any support is welcome and we are grateful for any help. ❤️

We will of course continue to keep you up to date on how the animals are doing.
